The "contest over knowledge" is a totally separate category of games than are usually discussed here. Then I would check to see that the question was interesting and the right difficulty. Name-only answers is pretty specific: I would get either a book of trivia or some trivial pursuit cards and just look through the answers for names. I know not all of r/boardgames is with me, but I love trivia. I am skinny, balding, and have a big nose. Here's an example question for a "Who am I"" card: It works for various types of questions, for example the game has questions that have you guess objects/items, places, people (real or fictional). However, the longer you wait for more clues, the higher the chance someone else will be able to correctly answer. If you think you might know the answer early on in the clues, you can take your guess, or wait for more clues to solidify how sure you are about your answer. It gets a little easier with each clue, because the clues progressively get easier, and you have more of them to piece together.Īlso, each player only gets one guess per trivia card, so there's a push your luck element to the format.

Basically, each trivia question is asked by giving a series of 10 clues that help the players figure out the answer. We really like the "trivia format" that's used by Smart Ass.
